Tuesday Tip: Converting Links to Webarchives

If you have collected a number on links in your database and want to convert them to webarchives, e.g., for viewing them offline or for conserving their current content, you have to manually select them and use the contextual menu. This can be a pain in the neck if you have tons of links that you want to convert. But, that is what AppleScript was made for. Download the Convert to Webarchive script, unzip it, and place it into ~/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink Pro/. Then, open DEVONthink Pro, select a link document that you want to convert, and choose the script that you have added from DEVONthink Pro’s Scripts menu. Volià! You can also find more useful scripts for DEVONthink Pro in the DEVONacademy.

That’s just what I needed right now! Thanks!

The link is offline (404 error) and the script found through archive.org does not work with the current version of DEVONthink Pro Office.

@ Edouard Lombard: Why don’t you simply use the built-in script Scripts > Download > Convert URLs to web documents? You can get it through the Support Assistant via Scripts > More Scripts…

  4. Edouard Lombard says:

Thank you, it works. I hadn’t noticed the “More scripts” option.
