Tuesday Tip: Access Firefox v3 — v5 bookmarks

While Firefox v2 kept its bookmarks in a simple file, Firefox v3 and later uses a database. This has advantages but makes it much harder for DEVONagent, DEVONthink, and DEVONnote to read and use them. No need to capitulate: You can make Firefox to write the bookmarks also in the old, plain format.

Firefox fan “Mr. Byte” explains in a short article on lytebyte.com how to persuade Firefox v3 and later to be a bit friendlier to others: click here.

Speaking of Firefox: The DEVONthink extension does not work with FF 5. Or maybe it does but it has no certificate for FF 5 and because of that FF 5 does not allow it to be installed. Major version upgrade frenzy, I’d say.

Nice tip. Gets me thinking; an Xmarks plugin would be awesome, too!
