First DEVONsphere Express did local, now it does servers, too

Today we have released DEVONsphere Express 1.6 with the ability to index network servers and volumes, that are not always available, too. Add your team server and get related data to whatever you’re working on in an instant from all the knowledge accumulated by your group. And if you don’t want to see irrelevant results, add the folders to the preferences and DEVONsphere Express excludes them from searching. The full power of DEVONthink, integrated into Mail, Safari, and the  Finder. And now also extended to your servers.

Of course we have improved a few other things, too, and fixed some bugs. Click here to read the news or click here to download your free trial.

  1. Hi at devonians, a simple question – is the update available at the Mac App store? Or will this be available for OS 10.8 only? The Mac App Store doesn’t show up the updates.

Sorry if I missed some changes here.

The recently introduced sandboxing rules prohibit us from posting any further updates to DEVONsphere Express (e.g. because it interfaces with other applications to do its magic; this is no longer allowed for apps sold through the Mac App Store). You can, however, download the free-world version from our Download page and replace your Mac App Store copy with it. It will get future updates automatically from our site then.

  3. Thanx for this info! So i started the mnual download! Does this relate to other products too? I own DTP Office – DevonAgent Pro and DevonSphere Express. Beside DSE – DAPro is also a MacAppStore Product.

Updates for other apps are always delayed due to Apple’s review process but not prohibited. We may have to cut down features over time depending on how strict their rules become.

  5. I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everybody else encountering issues with your blog. It appears as if some of the written text within your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them too? This might be a problem with my internet browser because I’ve had
    this happen previously. Kudos
