DEVONthink To Go PDF thumbnail view

DEVONthink 2.9.6, which we have just released, brings another bunch of workarounds for issues related to macOS Sierra’s broken PDF engine and scanner support. Both DEVONthink and DEVONnote also add new conditions to smart groups and honor metadata provided by ELO Office. The sharing extension for DEVONthink supports images, e.g., from web browsers, and uses less energy. On the iOS side we’ve made DEVONthink To Go 2.0.5 remember reading and playback positions. The update also adds a handy PDF thumbnail view, lets you stop and restart...

DEVONagent searching for 'drones'

Two weeks ago we have updated DEVONthink for macOS Sierra and DEVONthink To Go for iOS 10; this week it’s DEVONagent‘s turn with a maintenance update. Version 3.9.5 of all editions of DEVONagent received fixes for minor issues with Apple’s latest desktop operating system. In addition they now support the privacy-minded search engine Qwant and search Google Scholar better. As always we’re thrown a lot more into the basket, from more accurate ad filtering to updated scanner plugins and better interoperability with other applications. We recommend...

DEVONthink 2.9.5 and DEVONthink To Go 2.0.4

As with most major operating system releases, macOS Sierra and iOS 10 bring not only new features but also many under-the-hood changes. We have just released updates for all editions of DEVONthink as well as for DEVONnote and DEVONthink To Go. On iOS, DEVONthink To Go 2.0.4 fixes many issues related to memory and database management....

First new sync tutorial is online

After the first few maintenance updates to DEVONthink 2.9 and DEVONthink To Go 2 we’ve now begun to update our tutorials too. The first new tutorial introduces you to synchronizing via direct connections, step-by-step. Click here to visit it. Next on our list is a similar tutorial for synchronizing to Dropbox or WebDAV as well as make the tutorials easier to watch on an iOS device. Please stay tuned.

DEVONthink To Go 2.0.3 fixes ‘pending files’ issue

Version 2.0.2 of DEVONthink To Go which became available yesterday unveiled an issue that unfortunately didn’t surface even in our beta tests. In some situations it’s currently not possible to synchronize due to ‘pending files’. We have immediately sent a bug-fix release to Apple which is now waiting for Apple’s App Store review. If you experience this problem also on the Mac you can create a custom smart group searching for Instance is Pending and Instance is not Indexed and remove or update the pending items manually....

DEVONthink 2.9.3 and DEVONthink To Go 2.0.2

We know how important a robust sync is. And so here’s another maintenance release for both DEVONthink for Mac as well as DEVONthink To Go. We’ve made synchronizing to e.g. WebDAV or Dropbox up to 3.7 times faster. Direct connections via the local network are more reliable now too and during a sync you can see which database is being synchronized. On the Mac side DEVONthink now shows if there are unsynchronized changes and truncates sync location names in the middle instead of at...

DEVONthink 2.9.2 and DEVONthink To Go 2.0.1

DEVONthink To Go running on an iPad

Another week, another update for DEVONthink. But this time we also have an update for DEVONthink To Go too. We’ve worked hard to make the synchronization on both platforms even more robust and enjoyable. For example you can now again connect securely to your own WebDAV server with self-signed certificates. Both Mac and iOS versions come with detail enhancements too. On the Mac you can now quickly locate pending items by using smart groups or the advanced search, and sync all databases with one click. DEVONthink To Go 2.0.1...

DEVONthink To Go 2.0

DEVONthink To Go running on an iPad

It’s done. After 15837 builds, 18 semi-public betas and six release candidates, DEVONthink To Go 2.0 is finally available in the iOS App Store*. As promised, DEVONthink To Go 2.0 replaces the aged version 1.5.8 with a brand new app. We have rewritten it from scratch to take advantage of current iOS technologies and makes it more capable, faster, and more robust. It not only gives you a completely new user interface and a much enhanced feature set, with its next-generation sync you also...

DEVONthink 2.9.1 speeds up sync, fixes bugs

Two weeks ago we released DEVONthink 2.9 with our next-generation sync. Today there’s the first maintenance release for it with many improvements and bug fixes related to the synchronization. For example, downloading from sync stores is now up to 2.5 times faster than with the previous version. In addition DEVONthink Pro Office 2.9.1 allows you to select and delete ink annotations in PDF documents. We also taught all editions of DEVONthink a number of new new XML file name extensions and enhanced its drag-and-drop...
