Tuesday tip: Clean up web pages before printing

If you’re often “printing” web pages as PDF to your DEVONthink database, you might enjoy the following hack: The little bookmarklet switches a web page shown in your web browser (definitely works with Safari and Firefox) to design mode, making it possible to edit it on the fly before printing. Edit as you like, the changes are, of course, not saved to the originating web server. Don’t worry. To get the bookmarklet, open the following mini web page in your browser...

Clip to DEVONthink Updated — Firefox Inclusive

We have just updated the Clip to DEVONthink Safari extension and bookmarklet to version 1.1. The new version fixes a number of bugs, e.g. adding parts of the bookmarklet code when printing a web page as well as a bug preventing log-ins to password-protected web sites. If Safari does not offer you the update, please visit the Download Extras page and download the latest version. The bookmarklet is always loaded ‘live’ and so up-to-date when you use it the next...

Clip to DEVONthink Safari 5 Extension

You might be already using the Clip to DEVONthink bookmarklet for quickly adding notes or clipping interesting web pages to your DEVONthink database right from within Safari or Firefox. We have silently updated the disk images; if you are have downloaded DEVONthink Personal or Pro 2.0 public beta 8 yesterday please simply re-download the application to get the fix. In addition we have updated the ‘Clip to Bookmarklet’ for tagging. No need to download or update anything, the new code...

Bookmarklet updated

I’ve just posted an updated for the “Clip to DEVONthink” bookmarklet. The new version does not longer store the bookmarklet code together with the original page when you choose the “HTML” option. Attention: You need to update the bookmarklet in your browser for this to work. Delete your bookmarklet and drag it anew to your bookmarks bar from our Download Extras page.

Tuesday Tip: Bookmarklet Shortcuts

If you are using our brand new ‘Clip to DEVONthink’ bookmarklet, you may find it useful to know that you can activate bookmarks in Safari’s bookmark bar with Command plus a number. So if ‘Clip to DEVONthink’ is your fourth bookmark from the left, you can activate it with Command-4. PS: Check out the new design of the ‘Clip to DEVONthink’ bookmarklet. We have also fixed a number of bugs and glitches. But you don’t need to update anything on...
