DEVONagent searching for 'drones'

Two weeks ago we have updated DEVONthink for macOS Sierra and DEVONthink To Go for iOS 10; this week it’s DEVONagent‘s turn with a maintenance update. Version 3.9.5 of all editions of DEVONagent received fixes for minor issues with Apple’s latest desktop operating system. In addition they now support the privacy-minded search engine Qwant and search Google Scholar better. As always we’re thrown a lot more into the basket, from more accurate ad filtering to updated scanner plugins and better interoperability with other applications. We recommend...

DEVONagent 3.9.4 updates plugins, filters more accurately

Searching Stack Overflow

Today’s update for all editions of DEVONagent brings updated plugins and search sets. Better filters improve your search experience. They thin out advertising, analytics, trackers, and links to translation services more accurately so you don’t have to. In addition, clearing the search results or switching to private browsing clears the system-wide find pasteboard now too. This makes sure no unwanted private data is left behind if you don’t want to. And finally, the update improves the naming of copied or captured links and...

DEVONthink and DEVONagent in the blogs and podcasts

It’s time again to share three great mentioning of our products. Writer and blogger Ben Elijah shares his experiences with productivity tools and habits and says about DEVONthink: DEVONthink is, in my ways, the epitome of the ideal info dump. You can drag pretty much any kind of file into the app and it will make sense of it. […] DEVONthink’s secret weapon: the “See Also & Classify” function. When you select an item in your DEVONthink database and enable See Also &...

DEVONagent 3.9.3 with new scripts & El Capitan fixes

OS X El Capitan adds some technologies for enhanced security and DEVONagent 3.9.3 adds the necessary support for it. We’ve fixed a few bugs related to El Capitan, too. That being not enough we’ve added three scripts to DEVONagent Pro that integrate it better with Safari. It also plays videos fullscreen now. Links in PDF reports created by DEVONagent Pro 3.9.3 work more reliably. All three editions of DEVONagent update also the Stack Overflow and EUR-Lex plugins. The visually impaired will like the improved VoiceOver support. Read...

Ready for El Capitan: DEVONagent and DEVONsphere Express

Searching Stack Overflow

Just after we updated DEVONthink for OS X El Capitan, here are now the maintenance updates for DEVONagent and DEVONsphere Express. They improve the compatibility to Apple’s latest and greatest operating system for the Mac. In addition, DEVONagent Pro 3.9.2 uses the title of PDFs displayed in the build-in web browser and quickly captures non-HTML documents to DEVONthink. We have also updated the Twitter, Thumbnail Gallery, Audio, and Video scanners as well as two search sets. Also, DEVONagent Pro and Express 3.9.2 better filter advertising...

DEVONagent 3.9.1 and DEVONsphere Express 1.8.3

Searching Stack Overflow

Stack Overflow and GitHub are the places to be for developers on the web. DEVONagent 3.9.1 adds plugins for both and finds code and answers with precision. And if you’re less interested in developing and more in cooking — and who doesn’t like great food? — there’s a brand new recipe scanner. Get code snippets and top secret guacamole recipes delivered straight to the search window. You don’t even have to visit the web pages. DEVONsphere Express, our context-aware assistant, now searches ebooks, too. It’s also...

DEVONagent 3.9 introduces Inspectors, cleans up interface

New inspectors in DEVONagent 3.9

We have just updated all editions of DEVONagent. With version 3.9 we introduce a new Inspectors pane unifying several other panes. It gives you access to page properties, objects retrieved by scanners, and related pages. Properties include the author’s name, the page description, keywords, and more. The retrieved objects such as, e.g., links, images, videos, or RSS feeds are presented in actionable lists. The See Also Inspector shows you related pages from the archive, search runs, or retrieved from web search engines. Remove all search results...

DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.3

Today we have posted DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.3 to our website and to the App Store. The improved classification algorithm in version 2.8.3 improves the accuracy of all AI-based functionality: See also, classify, concordance, automatic grouping, and summarizing. Working with documents can hardly be easier. DEVONthink 2.8.3 now allows you to select and copy text from Quick-Look-based views. This includes e.g. Microsoft Office or OpenOffice documents. OpenOffice documents also open no longer internally but in their default application when you’re double-clicking them. The update adds...

DEVONagent 3.8.3 and DEVONsphere Express 1.8.2

Privacy matters, even if there are some large companies seeing things differently. DuckDuckGo is a search engine that claims that it doesn’t track its users and respects their privacy. And it delivers good search results, too. Reason enough for us to support it natively in all editions of DEVONagent 3.8.3. Other new features include a new preference option that stops search runs from the menu extra as soon as you open the first result. We have updated the Macintosh News search sets...
