Tuesday Tip: Convert ebooks to PDF

ePub and Mobi (the Kindle format) are solid file formats for electronic books. But they are harder to handle than, e.g., PDF or plain text as they are designed for reading on an ebook reader. They are not really suited for using them inside other applications or for long-term archiving. One option is to convert your ebooks to PDF using Calibre. Daniel Wessel writes about how to do it on his blog Organizing Creativity.

Download DEVONthink To Go manual as PDF or ebook

All our products come with a build-in documentation. It’s written in XML and compiled to HTML, PDF, and two ebook formats with a variety of tools. For DEVONthink To Go 2 we use the same workflow, just with another set of stylesheets that adopt the iOS look and make it work better in our own viewer. If you want to read the documentation and use DEVONthink To Go at the same time download it now as PDF or ebook from our website.

Read our documentation on your favorite ebook reader

Some might not know but the documentation that is built into DEVONthink, DEVONnote, and DEVONagent Pro was always also available as PDF. But after the relaunch of our website they looked strangely old-fashioned I have to admit. In the last few weeks I reworked the layout and adapted it to our new design. And, was I was at it, I dropped the landscape-oriented PDF for reading on the screen in favor of an ebook. So you can now download the documentation...

Visiting with Joe Kissell

Just before Christmas Joe Kissell, the author of Take Control of Getting Started with DEVONthink 2, Take Control of Your Paperless Office and many other great books, called and told me that he would be driving from his home in Paris, France, to Nürnberg, Germany. He managed to make a pit-stop and we managed to have lunch at the Rossknecht, a traditional German-cuisine restaurant here in Bietigheim-Bissingen, right in the middle of the busy Sternlesmarkt Christmas market. It was a great...

New: Take Control of Your Paperless Office

A while ago we worked with Take Control Ebooks to bring you Take Control of Getting Started with DEVONthink 2 as an addition to our built-in documentation. We asked Joe Kissell to write the ebook as he is not only an avid DEVONthink user but also a great tech writer who knows how to explain things to non-techie people. Now Take Control Ebooks have published a new book by Joe Kissell: Take Control of Your Paperless Office. Here’s what the publishers...
