Updates for DEVONthink and DEVONnote

We have just updated all editions of DEVONthink as well as DEVONnote to version 2.3.4 with a number of little enhancements and bug fixes. Better integration of DEVONthink Pro Office with ExactScan Pro, updated scripts for import email messages to DEVONthink Pro, and a new Activity panel listing currently running background processes such as updating news feeds or synchronizing databases. Use the apps’ built-in upgrade function or download the new versions from our Download page.

  1. Polish language in OCR with Exact Scan Pro still doesn’t work properly…

  2. Could you please send a bug report including step-by-step instructions so that we can reproduce the issue?

  3. I have already sent with tickets #335475 & #636022. This bug affects almost all characters from former codepage ISO 8859-2.

@Robert: I have just added a comment to ticket #335475. It’s definitely the PDFKit in OS X that garbles the PDF as soon as you change it. Same happens with these files when you open and save them in Preview. Not much we can do here as this ball’s in Apple’s yard it seems.

Activity Panel? I just downloaded DevonThink Personal 2.3.4 from the Mac AppStore. Reference to a new “Activity Panel.” But I see nothing on the apps menu that shows an activity panel, nothing on the screen, nothing in on-line support documentation … nothing, nothing. The only evidence I see of the Activity Panel is your release 2.3.4 documentation. What am I missing?

    See menu Tools > Activity.

I have a similar problem to John’s. I have downloaded the 2.3.4 version, I am trying to update and cannot. Your email response was unintelligible (and I do have two doctorates!).

Incidentally, my version has not got ‘activity’ in the Tools menu. My version also has not got an ‘in built’ update option.

@ Darek: Do you run a copy from the Mac App Store? In this case you’d need to wait for Apple to approve the update. All free-world versions from our website have an update function available in the app’s main menu and it’s Preferences.
