Tuesday Tip: What did I clip?

If you use our browser extension, Clip To DEVONthink, you’ll see a notification after a successful clip. If you check the Notification Center, the icon of three lines on the right side of the menubar at the top of your screen, you can see a record of those clips. Up to a week’s worth should be available to browse. In High Sierra, clicking on the message should open the record in DEVONthink.

And for those who are curious: whether to record these clips in the Notification Center or not can be controlled in System Preferences > Notifications.

Is there a way to avoid the “Do you want to allow this page to open “DEVONthink Pro Office.app”?” message !?

  2. @ Hayssam: Unfortunately no, it’s a security feature of Safari.

    sniff… (thanks)
I prefer the “save pdf to devonthink” printing workflow anyway, any chance you could upgrade the workflow to allow for “one page” pdf’s like the clip-to-devonthink-bookmark does !? The printing dialog seems to be better anyway as this prints directly. The bookmarklet fetches its own version, which doesn’t work for pages behind a password, or if I capture using the “reader view” in safari.

  4. @ Hayssam: When you use the print-to-DEVONthink workflow the PDF is generated by the source application. So we don’t have any influence here, we just take what the other application provides. Sorry…
